Jay-Z’s lawyer, Alex Spiro, clarified that Jay-Z has no involvement with Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs amid the latter’s
rape allegations involving a 13-year-old girl. Spiro addressed the media on Monday, distancing Jay-Z from Diddy as the hip-hop mogul faces multiple sexual assault lawsuits while in jail.
In a video shared online, Jay-Z's lawyer stated, "Mr Carter has no involvement in Mr Combs' case or with Mr. Combs. They knew each other professionally for several years," during a statement at Roc Nation's New York headquarters.
Jay-Z's attorney clarified that the rapper has no involvement in Sean "Diddy" Combs' case or personal matters. While they had a professional relationship over the years, their connection remained strictly professional, with both supporting each other at events like music awards and the NBA All-Star Game. There is no deeper association between the two.
The attorney further emphasized that Jay-Z has no knowledge of the charges or allegations against Sean "Diddy" Combs and has no involvement in the case. He reiterated that there is nothing more to add regarding the matter.
Jane Doe has filed a lawsuit against Sean "Diddy" Combs, accusing him of raping her at a house party following the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards. She also claims she was assaulted by an unnamed male celebrity and watched by an unnamed female celebrity. On December 8, Jay-Z was added to the lawsuit as an alleged rapist.
Jay-Z, who strongly denies the allegations, has filed to dismiss the case. He also requested that the accuser be publicly named, alleging that her lawyer is attempting to "blackmail" him.
