She expressed that the greatest lessons were not taught by successes, but by failures and difficult phases and she has dramatically changed as a person thanks to these challenges . Success came very early to her and she delivered five - six superhits back to back. During that period, she was labelled as the ‘golden leg of Telugu cinema’. However, she admitted what she could have learnt in that phase when everything was defined by others’ validation. She was made part of a race unknowingly, built around what others expected and perceived as success.

Samantha recalled how she was devastated by her first flop and felt now people would realise that isn’t that great as people believed. But in all this she has now found her own definition of success , for her success is now freedom- the freedom to take a two-year break without a film release, the freedom to grow, to evolve, and to determine what success means at her own pace, on her own terms. She also stated that many might not consider her successful given her past standards but for her she had never felt more successful.
