Superstar
Shah Rukh Khan may be working on his next Bollywood film 'King', but that hasn't stopped him from keeping an eye out for exciting projects.
According to the latest buzz, the actor is reportedly in talks with 'Pushpa' director
Sukumar, for an upcoming rural political action drama. This comes after rumours suggested that the duo would collaborate on a dark psychological thriller. However, a fresh wave of rumours doing the rounds, indicate that the film will showcase Khan in a raw and rustic avatar.
A report on Mid-Day states that Khan will play an anti-hero of sorts in the 'rural political action drama' that blends his mass appeal and global superstar image. This film will also explore 'social issues like caste and class oppression'.
Despite the buzz, the collaboration is unlikely to materialise anytime soon, as both Khan and Sukumar have their calendars full with their current work commitments. While Sukumar is currently committed to RC 17 with
Ram Charan, he is also set to begin work on Pushpa 3: The Rampage, which is eyeing a 2028 release.
Meanwhile, SRK is currently working on King with his daughter
Suhana Khan and
Abhishek Bachchan. He also has Pathaan 2 lined up to go on floors soon and the spy-action film 'Tiger Vs Pathaan' which was announced for a 2027 release.
With their schedules packed, this film will reportedly have a long 2-year wait before it materialises.
If confirmed, Sukumar would be the next South Indian filmmaker to work with the superstar after Atlee who worked with him on the Rs 1000 crore blockbuster Jawan and
Mani Ratnam, who worked with him way back in 1998, on the film Dil Se.
