Actor Aman Jaiswal, who was last seen as a protagonist in Dhartiputra Nandini, talks about celebrating
Diwali and highlights the importance of the festival in his life.
He said, "Diwali is the festival of light, celebrating the victory of light over darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance. I come from Ballia near Varanasi, a city close to
Ayodhya so for us Diwali is a very sacred day. As on this day lord Ram returned back to Ayodhya after defeating Raavan, hence the victory of good over evil. The day holds a great significance"
The actor travelled back to his hometown to be with his family for the celebration. He continued, "Recently my show went off air, and now I have travelled back home to be with my family and celebrate the Diwali festivities. I enjoy celebrating Diwali and following the traditional rituals like it’s common to do a big clean up or renovation of homes in the run-up to Diwali. And later decorate with rangoli. Liting up our house with candles and clay lamps both inside and out. I enjoy participating and helping my parents. We live in a joint family and celebration is always grand."
He added, "I love everything about Diwali. I feel it is a time when I eat lots of sweets and forget my fitness regime. I love the festival food, from luxurious homemade treats to savoury Indian dishes. Diwali sweets are a must during this holiday, with friends and family presenting each other with trays and beautifully wrapped boxes of confections featuring nuts, sweets and chocolates. But above all I'm fond of the feast my mom prepares, I can't express my excitement."
Recalling his childhood memories Aman shared, "I have many memories. But still strong is a memory of the first time I experienced a fireworks accident when I was quite young, and it was pretty scary that time, I remember while I was bursting a rocket, by chance or maybe because of the Windy weather it fell off to a nearby shop. An old uncle dressed up in new clothes for Diwali, I clearly remember he was wearing a dhoti, and that rocket blasted inside his dhoti and he started to panic. I was so scared and worried but thankfully it created no harm. I was scolded by my parents but the love for fireworks didn't decrease. I still enjoy it. I love the beauty like how fireworks shot into the clouds, full of different colours and shapes."
Aman Jaiswal will be celebrating his first Ganesh Chaturthi in Mumbai
Aman earlier acted in shows like Punyashlok Ahilyabai, and Udaariyaan among others.
