According to the Red Sox manager, Devers is one of the best designated hitters in the major league baseball fraternity in the current era. During an interview with the NESN, Cora said, “Very comfortable, and keep growing and keep learning about it. I think the strength and conditioning, the trainers, and the hitting group have done an amazing job supporting him. If you look at the numbers right now, he’s probably the best DH in the American League right now.”

With all the noise around the Boston Red Sox’ roster, Alex Cora strongly believes that Rafael Devers’ has displayed a great show on the field with respect to his terrific hitting skills. However, Devers was asked to play on the first base after the Red Sox star Triston Casas met with an accidental fate that led to his sudden exit from the team in the middle of the 2025 MLB season. Casas went on to injure his knee as he ruptured his left patellar tendon. Reportedly in the middle of the game, he was taken to the nearby hospital after being lifted by a stretcher.
